South Terminal is Gatwick’s original terminal building, older than North Terminal and directly connected to Gatwick Airport’s railway station on its ground floor. Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink services all arrive and depart from here, which makes South Terminal the terminal most passengers picture when they think of arriving at Gatwick by train.
North and South Terminals are connected by a free inter-terminal shuttle. The journey takes about two minutes. Follow the shuttle signs if you need to change terminals.
Airlines are periodically reassigned between Gatwick’s two terminals, so rather than naming specific carriers here, always check your terminal on your booking confirmation or airline app before you travel, particularly if you’ve flown with the same airline from Gatwick before and are assuming the same terminal applies.
