Getting to know Terminal 5
Terminal 5 opened in 2008 and is Heathrow’s largest and newest terminal, the exclusive home of British Airways and Iberia. Over 30 million passengers pass through it every year, more than any other terminal at the airport.
T5 isn’t one building, it’s three. The main terminal, T5A, is joined by two satellite buildings, T5B and T5C, reached by an internal transit system after security. If you’re arriving on a long-haul BA flight, there’s a good chance you’ll land at a satellite and need to transit through before reaching the main Arrivals Hall, it’s worth building a little extra time into your plans for this.
Terminal 5 has its own dedicated Heathrow Express and Piccadilly line station, separate from Terminals 2, 3 and 4, so unlike those terminals there’s no ambiguity about which platform to look for.
